As the main task in hand progressed, ASTRA could not help itself from extending the brief and embarked on a series of much needed jobs and challenges. We called this `Mission Creep’.
In all, the work had a value to the community of something in the region of £1/4 million which quite rightly provided huge satisfaction to all those involved!
- Graveyard extended
- Steep ¼ mile long public path (B.O.A.T) resurfaced and made safe
- Unsafe path/steps to the church porch removed and relayed to modern safety standards
- Fencing replaced
- New metal gates provided
- Parts of the church painted
- New electrical supply
- New floors to tower
- New access hatch to roof
- New chemical toilet
- Unique waterless kitchen
- `Bell Chamber’ detritus from a hundred years and more removed!
